Last year I built, for free, the website of my village's cultural association. This year I stand beside it in another way too, as a sponsor of its celebration.
Lithia is my village, and the Cultural Association of Lithia "Agia Paraskevi" is what keeps it alive. When, in a place like this, someone gives their time and effort as a volunteer, the least I can do is be there, with whatever I have.
A village is not kept alive by its buildings, but by its people and its celebrations. Supporting the association that organizes them is not sponsorship in the cold sense. It is a way of belonging somewhere, and showing it.
From the website, to the sponsorship
Last year I built, for free, the digital home of the association, a custom site the association updates on its own, with the history, the customs and the events of the village. This year, the association is organizing a concert by Konstantis Pistiolis, on Saturday 11 July at the Lithia primary school, and it placed me on its list of sponsors.
I do not see these as two separate things. They are the same thing from two sides: once through my work, once through my support. All the details and the tickets are on the association's page.
Why I write it here
I am not writing this to show off. I write it because it says something about the way I work: I do not care only about the project, I care about the place and the people around it. Whether it is my village's association, a professional in Thessaloniki or a barbershop in Kastoria, the relationship is just as real.
